Texas Southern Head Coach Clarence Mckinney, tweeted a huge shout out and thank you to Good Morning America and TSU alumnus, Michael Strahan. Strahan donated new helmets to the football team.

This isn't the first time that Strahan has donated to the program. Back in 2019, the former New York Giant partnered with X Tech pads to give his alma mater high quality equipment.

His donations go beyond athletics. In 2014, Strahan donated $100,000 to help the 'Ocean of Soul' marching band get to Canton, Ohio in August. The band was trying to get there to play for Strahan's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Strahan was taken in the second round, 40th player overall, in the 1993 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. At Texas Southern he had a reputation for sacking quarterbacks as demonstrated by his school record 41.5 career sacks. That ability transitioned well to the pro level and by the time his 15-season NFL career ended, he ranked fifth all-time in sack leaders and was the Giants’ record holder with 141.5 career sacks.

Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

One thing for sure Michael continues to give back and he indeed has not forgotten where he has come from!
